Through this work, I examined lines as traces, boundaries and written text. The first part was a time-lapse video of volunteers creating implicit lines as they moved through a specific space attempting to cover as much ground as possible. The use of text simultaneously draws attention to the physical perspective lines that exist within the space, while also describing the experience of the volunteers as they completed their task.
I created the final installation using foam core and an iPhone. Its form is such that it mimics the atrium where the video was shot. By deliberately placing it on a brick wall near the atrium space, I created a peephole effect allowing viewers to experience a space they were in proximity to from a completely different perspective.
